A 24-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly beaten to death inside her Western Sydney home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.Key points:The man was arrested at Maroubra in Sydney’s east this morning He is currently assisting police with their inquiries A strike force has been set up to investigate the deathAbout 2:40am yesterday, emergency services were called to a block of apartments on Lane Street at Wentworthville, after a neighbour reported a woman had been badly injured. Despite their best efforts, Sabah Hafiz, 23, died at the scene. Detective Acting Superintendent Simon Glasser said police believed Ms Hafiz had been assaulted, but were unsure if any weapon was used. “It is a tragic outcome — we are taking it extremely seriously and we have established a strike force to investigate the circumstances of this murder,” Acting Superintendent Glasser said. Investigators have been searching for her husband, Adam Cureton, 24, who also lived at the property.Sonah Hafiz, Ms Hafiz’s father, told the ABC he had never met Mr Cureton, but believed the pair had been married only “a few years”.
