Nepal cricketer Lalit Bhandari severely injured in motorcycle accident

Nepal international cricketer Lalit Bhandari has survived a nasty motorcycle accident that occurred while traveling from Mahendranagar from Dhangadhi, near his hometown Kanchanpur on 13th September.

He was involved in a big collision with a truck while riding his bike alongside one of his relatives. The incident took place on the East-West highway near the Jhalari market at around 7:30 PM on Sunday.

However, Karan Thagunna, the Bhandari’s relative, escaped a fatal injury, but the cricketer was seriously injured in the accident after being hit by a truck near his hometown Kanchanpur.

According to his relative Ram Singh Khatri, Bhandari has injured his right shoulder and waist in the accident while revealing that the 24-year-old was unconscious and was taken to the Dhangadhi Research Hospital in an ambulance after initial treatment in Jhalari.

The pacer regained consciousness and was taken to the Kohalpur Medical College in Banke for further treatment after initially undergoing treatment at Nisarg Hospital in Dhangadhi.

Fortunately, the cricketer is now in a stable condition and recuperating after having undergone several scans which revealed no head injury after a severe motorbike accident.


Lalit Bhandari is in Kohalpur Medical hospital and in stable condition now.
He has to undergo operation on both his hands and leg and as per doctors he is out of danger now.

Giving an update on Bhandari, the Cricket Association of Nepal stated:  “According to the doctor, a CT scan of @LalitBhandari72 has been done and there is no head injury. The situation is normal right now. There are injuries on the hands and feet. Officials of the Provincial Cricket Association are coordinating in the treatment process.”

The CAN said in another tweet: “Lalit’s consciousness is completely back. He has been taken to Kohalpur Medical College in Banke for further treatment. Get well soon Lalit.”

Noteworthy, Bhandari made his Nepal debut in 2018 against the Netherlands and took two wickets on their tour and also played for his country against Marylebone Cricket Club at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground that same year.

He made his List A debut during the ICC World Cricket League Championship in 2017 and has played three List A matches and a T20 so far.
