SA v PAK 2021: Shahid Afridi unhappy with South Africa; says “sad to see” players leaving for IPL 2021

After Pakistan’s 2-1 ODI series win against South Africa, former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi after congratulating the team went on to criticize Cricket South Africa (CSA) for releasing some of their key players for IPL 2021 in the middle of the ongoing Pakistan series.

After suffering a 28-run win in the third and the final ODI, Afridi said that it was “sad to see T20 leagues influencing international cricket”.

“Surprising to see @OfficialCSA allowing players to travel for IPL in the middle of a series. It is sad to see T20 leagues influencing international cricket. Some rethinking needs to be done,” the 44-year-old wrote on Twitter.

The right-hand explosive batsman also congratulated the Pakistan side for a superb away series win against South Africa.

Pakistan had a great series as skipper Babar Azam scored a superb century that won the first ODI, left-hander Fakhar Zaman scored a superb 193 but the team ended up losing the match by 17 runs. With yet another balanced performance, the visitors won the third ODI by 28 runs, with Zaman scoring another hundred for Pakistan.
