The prolific right-handed batsman was bought by Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021 auction at the price of INR 2.2 crores after he was released by Rajasthan Royals (RR).

At Delhi Capitals, Steve Smith will play under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, who was named captain after regular skipper Shreyas Iyer was ruled out due to a shoulder injury which he picked up during the ODI series against England.

Delhi Capitals will start their IPL 14 campaign against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 10th April.
