Nepal Warns People as Neighboring India Sees COVID-19 Resurge!

The Health Ministry appealed to the public to strictly follow necessary health protocols to prevent COVID-19 resurgence.

With the resurgence of coronavirus cases in neighboring India, the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has appealed to the public to strictly follow necessary health precautions to help prevent a fresh wave of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Issuing a statement on Sunday, the MoHP Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam requested the public not to organize any public events such as assemblies, gatherings, parties, meetings, and seminars to prevent the resurgence of coronavirus cases.
Dr. Gautam also requested people to wear face masks, sanitize hands regularly, and adhere to all health protocols issued earlier by the MoHP.
India, with which Nepal shares much of its border, reported 43,846 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, with its worst-hit state Maharashtra again accounting for about 60% of the total rise.
As the cross-border movement between the two countries remains unabated, the Health Ministry fears that Nepal could see a fresh wave of COVID-19 cases.
The MoHP also directed the provincial health directorates, hospitals, district health offices, and border health desks to implement necessary steps to prevent a coronavirus resurgence.
